Lauren Conrad and Kyle Howard break up after three years of dating

The Hill's star Lauren Conrad and longtime beau Kyle Howard have broken up,The couple dated for three years.Lauren and Kyle tried their best to keep details of their relationship out of the press over the course of their three year relationship, even though she was still filming The Hills when they met. She's gone from reality star, to best selling author, and now designer of her fashion collections including her newest, Paper Crown. Lauren Conrad and friends rallied around each other when faced with boy troubles. And now it appears that once again the 25 year old will need a shoulder to cry on, as it emerges that she has split from her actor boyfriend Kyle Howard. The couple, who have enjoyed a three year romance away from the cameras, have quietly called time on their relationship. The news comes after the author and fashion designer and her handsome 33 year old Hollywood beau have not been spotted together for months. Unlike most of her life, which has been under the scrutiny in both reality series Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County and its spin off series, The Hills, Lauren and Kyle kept their relationship low key. They met whilst Lauren was still filming The Hills, but he never appeared on camera.

Last year Lauren had been filming a new reality show for mtv  one that focuses on her career as a fashion designer rather than her personal life, but the show was eventually axed.Even so, she told Ryan Seacrest that again Kyle would no be appearing on it. 'I've always been open to doing reality again,' she told Seacrest back in September 2010. 'Just under certain circumstances. As long as you have a separation. You have your personal life and work life. It would follow my career, set in L.A. Kyle is not in it.' In fact Lauren made it clear she would continue to keep her personal and professional life separate. By the time I had met Kyle, I had already perfected my 'double life,' she explained to Seventeen last year. 'There was my TV life and my real life.'

Earlier this year, things appeared to be smooth sailing between the couple, with engagement rumours even sparking. In January, stories that the pair were about to tie the knot were shut down by Lauren's people. 'This is totally false,' her rep told Us. So far Lauren has stayed quiet about the break up, and appears to be healing her broken heart with some exercise. She is, however, having great success with her career, just inking a new three book deal with HarperCollins. She has already penned the best sellers L.A. Candy and Lauren Conrad Style and the world rights to her children’s book series The Fame Game have been picked up. The first of the three books will be released in 2012.
