Karisma Kapoor returning to the big screen


Karisma Kapoor, nicknamed "Lolo" is a National Film Award winning popular Indian actress who appears in Bollywood films. Making her film debut in 1991, Kapoor went on to become one of the most popular actresses of her generation. During her career years, she has been part of many commercially and critically successful films.

The actress had stopped working in movies after her marriage to Delhi based industrialist Sanjay Kapur in 2003. She also has a daughter and a son. At point post marriage, Bollywood had been abuzz with speculation that Karisma would not return to films but she proved it all wrong as for Hindi cinema's first family the Kapoors celluloid is what water is to human life. Finally the wait is over for all the Karisma Fans.

After a five year hiatus, Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor is returning to the big screen with Vikram Bhatt's next 3D project “Dangerous Ishq”, a supernatural thriller. Vikram Bhatt was determined to get Karisma at any price. He could afford it after Haunted which has become the highest grossing horror film in India of all times.

“When I first gave Karisma a narration, she loved the story and the script. It's a woman centric film and she plays the main character. ‘Dangerous Ishq’ is a supernatural thriller based on past life regression. We start shooting in September in Rajasthan,” Vikram said.

“It's a role I haven't done before. The script is very interesting and working in the 3D format will be a new experience for me,” said Karisma, 36, whose previous film “Mere Jeevan Saathi” was released in 2006. Karisma, the granddaughter of Hindi cinema legend Raj Kapoor, started her film journey with the 1991 film “Prem Qaidi” and went on to deliver hits like “Raja Babu”, “Andaz Apna Apna” and “Saajan Chale Sasural”.She won a national award for best supporting actress for her role in “Dil To Pagal Hai” and earned critical acclaim for movies like “Fiza” and “Zubeidaa” directed by Shyam Benegal. She not only staged a comeback with “Baaz” and “Mere Jeevan Saathi” but is now daring to do it once again.
